Christopher Rankin Killed in Victoria Motorcycle Accident on Navarro Street at Lawndale Avenue
Victoria, Texas (December 22, 2018) – The motorcyclist who was airlifted after a traffic accident which occurred Wednesday night in Victoria has succumbed to his injuries, according to the police.
The accident occurred at an unspecified time on Wednesday, December 19, in the 3800 block of Navarro Street at Lawndale Avenue.
Police said Christopher Rankin, 26, was riding his 2003 Kawasaki northbound in the 3800 block of Navarro Street, when a southbound blue Dodge Durango, driven by David Snell, 67, of Victoria, tried to turn eastbound onto the 500 block of Lawndale Avenue, resulting in a collision.
The Durango also hit a 2006 Ford F-150 driven by Jessie Mathis Jr., 72, also of Victoria.
Rankin was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 2:45 a.m. Friday, December 21.
Rankin had reportedly recently moved to Victoria from Colorado.
Snell and Mathis Jr. were uninjured in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
