7-Year-Old Boy Injured in New Boston Pedestrian Accident on Lion Drive and Wherry Street
New Boston, Texas (October 19, 2018) – A child was struck and injured by a vehicle last week Thursday in New Boston, according to a local news source.
The accident took place at about 7:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11 off Lion Drive and Wherry Street, according to a statement released by the New Boston Police.
Police said a 7-year-old boy was trying to cross the street so that he could get to a nearby school bus stop when a Chevy HHR failed to slow down and struck the boy on the road.
The driver of the Chevy failed to stop and continued driving northbound on Highway 8.
The child was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
