Cesar Ramos Killed in Three-Vehicle Accident on SH 111 North near Edna

Edna, Texas (January 27, 2018) – A 27-year-old San Antonio man was killed in a major three-vehicle collision on Friday evening in Jackson County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Cesar Ramos died in the crash that happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. Friday, January 26, on State Highway 111 North, approximately 9 miles northwest of Edna.
DPS said 60-year-old David Tate of Edna, was driving a 1993 Chevrolet northbound on SH 111 when he made an attempt to turn left onto CR 126. Ramos was driving a 2010 Honda motorcycle behind Tate and failed to stop in time, crashing into the Chevrolet.
Ramos was ejected from his motorcycle and fell onto the southbound lanes during the crash.
DPS said Ramos was wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
It’s unclear whether Ramos died due to the impact of the crash or if he was run over by a 2005 Mazda that was being driven southbound on SH 111 North by 23-year-old Jimenez Vargas of Bay City.
Vargas was treated for minor injuries. Tate was not injured in the crash.
The crash is under an investigation.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
