Cecelia Aguilar ID’d as Teen Killed in Dear Smith Pedestrian Accident on FM 1412
Dear Smith, Texas (July 30, 2018) – The teen who was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in Dear Smith has been identified as Cecelia Aguilar, 19, of Hereford, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, July 26 on FM 1412, about 15 miles north of Hereford
Authorities said David Nipp, 35 of Belton, Texas, was driving eastbound on FM 1412 when he struck Aguilar who was walking in the eastbound lane.
Nipp did not see Aguilar walking in the lane of travel and was unable to avoid hitting her due to nighttime conditions.
Aguilar was declared deceased at the scene. Nipp was not injured in the crash.
Authorities said Aguilar was wearing headphones while she was walking down the road.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
