Tyler County, Texas (June 4, 2018) – The woman who was killed in a crash that left three others hospitalized on Sunday evening in Tyler County has been identified as Betty Jo Slaydon, 73, of Kirbyville, according to DPS.
The fatal crash took place at around 6:45 p.m. June 3, on US 190 near Dam B, approximately 4 miles east of Woodville.
DPS said Reginald Williams, 45, of Woodville, was driving a 2015 Chrysler at an unsafe speed westbound on US 190 when the vehicle began to spin. He drifted into the eastbound side and collided with an oncoming 2008 Ford.
Slaydon was an occupant of the Ford and was killed in the crash. The second occupant, Rube Wayne Slaydon, 75, of Kirbyville, was transported to Tyler County hospital with serious injuries.
Williams and his passenger were also seriously hurt and were taken to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.
The accident is under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
