Bayli Carney ID’d as Person Killed in State Highway 171 Accident near Cresson
Weatherford, Texas (December 17, 2018) – The person who was killed Sunday in a three-vehicle collision in Weatherford has been identified as Bayli Paige Carney, 20, of Granbury, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The horrific accident happened at an unspecified time Sunday, December 16 on State Highway 171, approximately seven miles north of Cresson.
The preliminary crash investigation shows that a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Glenda Louise Chochran, 59, of Weatherford, was heading northbound on State Highway 171 and had slowed to a stop to wait on southbound traffic when it started to make a left turn into a private driveway and was rear-ended by a 2018 Kenworth truck tractor that was hauling a trailer.
The force of the impact caused the Kenworth to veer into the southbound lanes, where it then collided head-on with a 2012 Kia Soul driven by Carney.
Carney was pronounced dead at the scene while Chochran was taken to Medical City Weatherford with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the Kenworth, Drew Wade Hardwick, 41, of Cedar Hill, was uninjured in the crash.
Further details were not immediately available, and the crash remains under investigation.
