Baltazar Lara Killed in Angelina County Crash on FM 1818

Angelina County, Texas (May 7, 2018) – A 20-year-old Diboll man was killed in a two-car accident involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup that happened Sunday morning in Angelina County, according to a local news report.
The crash occurred at around 8:45 a.m. Sunday, May 7 on FM 1818 about four miles east of Diboll.
As per the report, 42-year-old Noah Berry from Lovelady was operating a 2001 Peterbilt truck-tractor/semi-trailer rig eastbound on FM 1818 while Baltazar Lara was driving a 2003 Dodge pickup westbound on the same road.
For unknown reasons, the Dodge crossed over the center line and collided with Peterbilt head-on.
An Angelina County justice of the declared Lara dead at the scene. Berry was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
