Ashley Martinez and Eloy Herrera Killed in Crash in North Austin
North Austin, Texas (January 10, 2018) – Two people who were killed in a crash in North Austin Thursday night last week have been identified, police said.
The crash happened just before midnight, Thursday, January 6, at Interstate 35 North and 51st Street.
According to police, the victims identified as 23-year-old Ashley Martinez and 15-year-old Eloy Herrera were killed in a crash when their car stopped, for unknown reasons, in the center lane along the 5600 block of Interstate 35 North.
As per the initial report, the victims’ GMC Jimmy was then struck by an 18-wheeler from behind causing the car to go into flames.

The crash remains under investigation.
