Araceli Gonzalez Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-20 in Reeves County

Araceli Gonzalez Victim in Fatal Reeves County Crash on Interstate 20

Reeves County, Texas (September 18, 2019) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Reeves County, according to the DPS.

The crash occurred around 4:00 a.m. September 16, on Interstate 20, west of Pecos.

DPS said Araceli Gonzalez, 19, of Fabens, was driving a Dodge Avenger eastbound on the interstate while a truck-tractor was heading westbound.

Gonzalez drove onto the right shoulder, overcorrected, crossed into the westbound lane and collided with the truck-tractor.

Gonzalez was not wearing a seat belt and was declared dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the truck-tractor were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
