Officer Hospitalized in Del Valle Crash on FM 973

Del Valle, Texas (February 5, 2018) – According to an Austin Police Department report, an APD police officer was hospitalized after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday night.
The accident took place on 9:53 p.m. Saturday, February 3, on Farm to Market 973 just south of State Highway 71 near the Travis County Jail.
According to APD, the officer was working the scene of a crash when he was struck by the vehicle.
Police said the officer was not seriously injured but was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for medical evaluation while the driver fled the incident scene
Police launched an investigation into the incident.
