Abla Almaiah Critically Injured in North Odessa Pedestrian Accident at 42nd and Tom Green

Odessa, Texas (December 20, 2019) – A woman was critically injured in a pedestrian accident Wednesday morning in North Odessa, according to a local news source.

The accident occurred just before 10:00 a.m. December 18, at the intersection of 42nd and Tom Green.

Police said a minivan driven by Renee Vincent was heading eastbound on 42nd when it hit a pickup truck driven by Dana Gonzalez that was turning onto Tom Green from the westbound lane. The truck failed to yield to the minivan.

The impact caused the pickup to hit Abla Almaiah, who was walking in the crosswalk.

Almaiah was taken to a local hospital and was then airlifted to a Lubbock hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

An investigation is underway.
