2 Killed in Collision with FedEx Truck on I-35 in San Antonio

San Antonio, Texas (January 11, 2018) – Two people were killed on Wednesday night when their car was rear-ended by a FedEx truck on the South Side.
According to a report by the authorities, the crash took place at around 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Southwest Loop 410.
Police said the driver of a car traveling northbound on I-35 is suspected to have missed an exit and as the vehicle slowed down, it was struck from behind by a FedEx truck.
The impact of the crash pushed the car off the roadway and caught fire.
First responders were able to eject the driver from the wreckage but the passenger was not able to get out.
Both the driver and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said intoxication was an unlikely factor. The crash is under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
