2 HPD Officers Hospitalized after Crash on the Gulf Freeway in Houston

Houston, Texas (February 17, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized after a car slammed into Houston Police Department vehicles on Saturday morning in Houston.
The crash happened on the Gulf Freeway near El Dorado at around 2:30 a.m.
Two Houston Police cruisers were blocking the scene of an earlier fatal crash involving a motorcyclist when the driver of a Kia Soul struck the cruisers.
Two officers were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the Kia was also hospitalized with unknown injuries. The driver was suspected to be intoxicated and was taken into custody.
The Houston Police Department is investigating the crash.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
