1 Injured in Heartland Truck Crash on Interstate 20
Heartland, Texas (December 2, 2018) – One person was airlifted to a Dallas- area hospital Saturday morning after a traffic accident in Heartland, according to a local news source.
The collision took place Saturday, December 1 on Interstate 20.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, an 18-wheeler and a 2006 Chrysler Touring were both heading westbound on Interstate 20 when the Chrysler made an unsafe lane change in front of the 18-wheeler.
DPS said the back-end of the Chrysler made contact with the front of the 18-wheeler. The impact caused the Chrysler to further spin-out in front of the 18-wheeler.
Both vehicles then traveled through the center median and partially blocked the eastbound lanes.
The Chrysler driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center. The operator of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
The westbound lanes were reopened at around 12:33 p.m. The report says the eastbound lanes were reopened earlier.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
