Young County, TX – A 9-year-old was killed on Saturday in a two-vehicle collision in Young County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal collision happened on March 14 on State Highway 67.

DPS said a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on the highway while a 2025 BMW 230 Series was traveling southbound.

The BMW was attempting to pass a vehicle in the southbound lane and drove into the northbound lane. It veered into the northbound improved shoulder to avoid a collision. The Tahoe then hit a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling southbound behind the BMW.

The occupants of the Tahoe and the Silverado were taken to the hospital for treatment. A 9-year-old in the Tahoe later died at the hospital.

All the occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
