New Braunfels, TX – A person was killed Monday evening after being struck by a dump truck in New Braunfels, according to officials.
The deadly accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on February 23 in the 200 block of North Seguin Avenue near the intersection of Mill Street.
Officials said a dump truck driven by Jude T. Jones, 60, was stopped at a red light at the intersection.
Jones failed to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and struck Stephanie Madzy, 60, of New Braunfels.
Madzy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones was taken to a local hospital and also booked into the Comal County Jail and charged with criminally negligent homicide.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
