Breland succumbed to her injuries at the scene

Bolivar Peninsula, TX. – 57-year-old Monica Breland has been identified as the woman who died after being struck by a car on Saturday evening in Crystal Beach.

According to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on the 1000 block of Highway 87 at around 7:43 p.m.

A westbound vehicle struck the woman running across the highway.

Breland succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

No one else was injured in the fatal accident.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
