Jefferson County, TX – A Beaumont man was killed early Monday morning in a head-on collision in Jefferson County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened at about 5:10 a.m. on January 5 on State Highway 124 at the intersection of Hackberry Lane.
DPS said a 27-year-old from Pearland was driving a 2016 Nissan 370Z northbound while a 38-year-old Beaumont man was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima southbound. The vehicles collided head-on on the southbound shoulder.
The Altima driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
The other driver was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No other details were available.
The troopers are investigating the accident.
