Jesus Valdez, Alixis Hernandez, Clemente Nava Killed in Elgin Car Crash on US 290 And Roy Davis Road

Elgin, Texas (December 19, 2018) – Three people were killed and another hospitalized following a wreck between a vehicle and a semi-trailer on Tuesday morning near Elgin, DPS said.
The crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. December 18 on US 290 at Roy Davis Road.
DPS said Jesus Escalante Valdez, 21, of Giddings, was driving a Chevy Tahoe westbound in the inside lane on US 290 when he crashed into a semi-trailer whose driver failed to yield to a right-of-way. The big rig was reportedly trying to turn onto Roy Davis Road when wreck happened.
Valdez and his two passengers, Alixis Eduardo Hernandez, 21, and Clemente Nava, 22, both of Gidding, were killed in the wreck. A third passenger was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
The DPS is investigating the wreck.
