Two Hospitalized after Jefferson County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 near FM 365
Jefferson County, Texas (December 16, 2018) – Two people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on a Jefferson County freeway, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash was reported at about 2:00 p.m. December 15, on Interstate 10, near FM 365.
According to a preliminary investigation, a GMC SUV, a Range Rover and a Honda Odyssey van were traveling westbound on the freeway when they all slowed because of the traffic ahead.
A Ford pickup truck driver failed to control his speed and rear-ended the SUV. The force of the impact caused the SUV to hit the Honda while the Ford spun into the Range Rover.
The crash debris struck the windshield of a commercial motor vehicle in the eastbound traffic lanes.
The driver and passenger of the SUV were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
The eastbound and westbound Interstate 10 traffic lanes were closed following the crash.
Motorists were asked to seek alternate routes.
The lanes have since been reopened.
An investigation is underway.
