Two Injured in Austin Car Crashes on MoPac near U.S. 183

Austin, Texas (October 26, 2018) – A medic was among two people hospitalized after a series of crashes involving suspected DUI drivers early Friday morning in Austin.
According to the APD, the first incident happened at around 1:11 a.m. on MoPac near U.S. 183.
Police said officers pulled over a suspected DUI driver heading south on MoPac and shortly afterwards, another alleged drunk driver crashed into the two police cars stopped at the site.
An Austin-Travis County EMS ambulance responded to the crash and at around 2:10 a.m., another suspected drunk driver crashed into the EMS ambulance.
A medic and one other person were both taken to a hospital and were expected to recover.
Police arrested the three suspected DUI drivers. The incident is under investigation.
