Police Officer Hurt in Dallas Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 20

Dallas, Texas (October 21, 2018) – A police officer was struck and injured by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Dallas, according to the authorities.
The incident occurred on Interstate 20 near Mountain Creek Parkway.
Authorities said the Dallas police officer was reportedly laying down flares on the roadway while aiding a stranded driver when he was hit by a vehicle.
The officer sustained serious injuries and was taken to Methodist Central for treatment.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle that hit the officer remained at the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
