Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on the Eastex Freeway at Polk Street

Houston, Texas (September 3, 2018) – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday morning in Houston, according to the HPD.
The crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. on the Eastex Freeway at Polk Street.
HPD said the woman was walking along the southbound lanes of the freeway when she was hit by the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle involved reportedly stopped at the scene and contacted the authorities.
The victim died at the scene of the crash.
Alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the accident.
The HPD is investigating the crash.
