Houston, Texas (March 3, 2017) – A  violent, fiery three-car crash was reported late Thursday night in Southwest Harris County.
The incident took place just before midnight on Almeda near Beltway. The police believe that speed racing may have caused the violent collision.
According to a reported by the Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies, a Dodge Charger and a Ford Mustang were driving down on Almeda Road at very high rates of speed when both drivers apparently lost control of their cars.
The Charger struck a red pickup truck that was traveling southbound with two parties. The impact caused the truck to veer off the roadway and caught fire, deputies said. Fortunately, the two occupants, male and female, made it out of the truck uninjured.
Reportedly, the Charger stopped Beltway 8 exit and Almeda Road intersection.  The driver and passenger of the Charger also made it out uninjured. However, the two men took off the car’s license plate and fled the scene.
According to the deputies, the Ford Mustang continued southbound before it crashed into a utility pole, ripping the vehicle in half. The Mustangs’ front continued down on Almeda and came to a stop 300 feet from the pole.
Two passengers of the Mustang – male and female – got out of the vehicle and left the crash site. The authorities later found the couple at their home without major injuries.
Apparently, no major injuries were reported in the violent crash. The incident remains under investigation.
