56-Year-Old Carmen Carey Dies in Lake Highlands Pedestrian Crash on Forest Lane

Lake Highlands, Texas (August 19, 2018) – A woman riding on a wheelchair was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday night in Lake Highlands, according to the Dallas Police Department.
The crash happened at around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, August 18 in the 9100 block of Forest Lane near Greenville Avenue.
Police said Carmen Carey, 56, was riding a motorized wheelchair in a crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle heading west on Forest Lane.
Carey was transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
The Dallas Police Department is looking for the hit-and-run driver.
