Robert Giesbrecht ID’d as Man Killed in Lower Valley Three-Vehicle Crash on Americas Avenue at Pan American Drive near Loop 375
Lower Valley, Texas (August 18, 2018) – The man who was killed in a three-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in Lower Valley has been identified as Robert Giesbrecht, 48, of El Paso, according to the officials.
The fatal collision occurred at around 12:45 p.m. August 17, in the 500 block of Americas Avenue at Pan American Drive near Loop 375.
According to the El Paso Police Department, Giesbrecht was driving his 2008 Nissan Rogue on Americas Avenue when he allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit a 2012 Honda Civic operated by Javier Gutierrez, 19, who was heading eastbound in the 9500 block of Pan American Drive.
The impact ejected Giesbrecht from his car, which continued traveling down the street and ended up running over Giesbrecht.
The Nissan then hit a black 2013 Dodge Avenger operated by Gian Carlo Mota, 19, who was stopped at the intersection.
Giesbrecht died at the scene.
Gutierrez and Mota stayed at the scene.
No other injuries were reported in the wreck.
The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations unit is conducting the investigation.
