Motorcyclist Injured in Traffic Crash on Atkinson Drive in Lufkin
Lufkin, Texas (August 15, 2018) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday evening in a traffic collision in Lufkin, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at around 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, August 14 on Atkinson Drive.
As per the reports, Crystal Tovar, 31, of Lufkin was pulling out of her driveway on Atkinson Drive in a Dodge Challenger when she drove into the path of a westbound motorcycle.
The unidentified rider was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Lufkin with serious injuries and later flown to Memorial Hermann in Houston.
As of 8:45 Wednesday, the motorcyclist remains in critical condition.
Tovar was not injured in the crash. She was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a private drive.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
