Three Drivers Injured in Crash on Loop 340 in Waco

Waco, Texas (July 25, 2018) – Three people were injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle collision in Waco, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 8:00 a.m. July 24, on Loop 340 near Imperial Drive exit.
Officials said a cement truck was traveling northbound on Loop 340 when it topped a hill and the operator saw that traffic was slowing ahead of them. The driver then swerved and the truck overturned. The truck sled for about 150 yards before stopping.
Two other cars were involved in the crash.
The driver of the truck and the driver of the second car were trapped in the wreckage and firefighters had to use Jaws of Life to free them.
Both drivers and the driver of the third car sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
The loop was closed for several hours to allow the cleanup of the oil and cement spilled by the truck.
Traffic was diverted to Highway Access Road.
Police are investigating the crash.
