1 Killed in Northeast El Paso Car Crash on Railroad Drive near Angora Loop
El Paso, Texas (July 19, 2018) – A person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a car crash involving a train in northeast El Paso, the police said.
The fatal crash occurred at about 12:30 p.m. July 18, on the 11600 block of Railroad Drive, just past Angora Loop near the Kinder Morgan energy plant.
The crash involved a pickup truck and a train. It was not immediately clear how the crash happened.
Officers responded to the scene and found the stopped train and a mangled white truck.
One person was killed in the collision. Their identity was not immediately disclosed.
A witness said there are no flashing lights which warn the motorists about the train.
A portion of the drive was shut down for several hours.
An investigation is ongoing.
