Nirmal Minhas, Meharpratap Minhas Killed in Potter County Crash on RM 1061

Potter County, Texas (July 17, 2018) – Two people were killed in a crash that left three others hospitalized on Saturday morning in Potter County, according to the DPS.
The two-vehicle collision happened at about 6:50 a.m. July 14, on RM 1061.
DPS said Upindarjit Minhas, 38, of Calgary, was driving a Honda minivan on RM 1061 when he crossed the centerline and collided with a semi-truck driven by Scott Garrett, 57, of Amarillo.
A passenger in the Honda, Nirmal Kaur Minhas, 68, of Calgary, Alberta, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meharpratap Singh Minhas, 6, also of Calgary, was also a passenger in the Honda and was rushed to a hospital, where the child was pronounced deceased.
A third passenger in the Honda, Mekekdeep Kaur Minhas, 10, of Calgary, was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock with critical injuries. The driver of the Honda was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in critical condition.
Garrett was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigators are working to determine the cause of the wreck.
