Ricky Wilkerson Killed in Waco Bicycle Crash at North 15th Street and West Waco Drive

Waco, Texas (June 17, 2018) – The bicyclist who was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash has succumbed to his injuries, according to police.
The crash occurred at around 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 15 at North 15th Street and West Waco Drive.
According to the police, for unknown reasons, an eastbound 2007 to 2014 GMC Silverado truck hit Ricky Wilkerson, of Waco.
The driver involved fled the scene and was last seen traveling eastbound on Waco Drive.
As per the police, the vehicle was described as a smoke-gray pickup, potentially a model year 2007-2015 GMC or Chevrolet make, and is missing the driver’s side mirror with damage to the left front corner.
According to Witnesses, the suspected motorist was described as a black male in his early to mid-twenties, about 5′ 9″ to 5′ 10″ tall, with a slender build, short dreadlock hair, and wearing a dark shirt with blue jeans.
Wilkerson was transported to at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest where he later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

West Waco drive was shut down for several hours as police investigated.
The crash remains under investigation.
