Krystal Hastings and 1 Injured in Gonzales Crash on Highway 97

Gonzales, Texas (June 1, 2018) – Two people were injured in a major collision in Gonzales Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source.
The crash was reported at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 on Highway 97, just south of the Saturn community.
The Texas Department of Public Safety troopers said an Enterprise box truck, driven by Nicholas Doualis, 25, of San Antonio, was heading southbound when it rounded a curve at a high rate of speed and skidded into a red four-door truck that was heading northbound, operated by Krystal Hastings of Gonzales.
A 4-year-old passenger in the truck was treated at the scene while Hastings was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio.
Doualis was taken into custody and charged with intoxication assault, a felony of the third degree.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
