Britney Baez Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash at Westpark Drive and Dunvale Road in SW Houston

Houston, Texas (May 28, 2018) – A 17-year-old girl was killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Southwest Houston on Sunday evening, according to the Houston Police Department.
The fatal crash occurred just before 5 p.m. May 27, at Westpark Drive and Dunvale Road.
Police said a family of four was stopped at a red light at the intersection when their vehicle was rear-ended by a Ford Mustang traveling at a high rate of speed.
A teenager, identified as Britney Baez, was killed in the crash. Her father, her 13-year-old sister, and mother were among six people transported to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Mustang reportedly got out of the vehicle, grabbed his 2-year-old son and fled on foot. The suspect was spotted by a wrecker driver, who notified the authorities.
Police said the Mustang driver failed a field sobriety test. He was taken into custody, and his son transported to the hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
