Sihyeon Stephans Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash in Copperas Cove

Copperas Cove, Texas (May 21, 2018) – Copperas Cove High School senior Sihyeon Ryu Stephans, 18, was killed in a two-car accident in Williamson County Sunday afternoon, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
The deadly collision happened at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20 on U.S. Highway 183.
Stephans was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 183 when her 2003 Mazda Protégé veered off the highway.
Stephans overcorrected, and her vehicle skidded into the southbound lane and into the path of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 operated by 73-year-old William Mason from Volente.
DPS official said Stephans was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
It’s unknown if Mason was injured.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
