Dale, Texas (May 3, 2018) – A 39-year-old Marble Falls man was killed Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle hit the rear of an SUV outside Dale, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report.
The collision happened at around 4:20 p.m. Sunday, April 29 on FM 1854 a half mile southeast of Dale.
According to the DPS report, John Grigar was riding a 2008 Ducati on FM 1854 when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, which was traveling at around 40 mph operated by Russell Barber, 68, of Dale.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the speed limit on the stretch road is 55 mph.
Grigar was declared dead at the site of the crash by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Raymond Deleon.
No arrests were made and no suspicion of alcohol consumption or any other circumstances were mentioned in the report.
The incident remained under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
