Hector Soto Killed in Two-Car Accident on Interstate 20 in Odessa

Odessa, Texas (May 2, 2018) – The man who was killed in a two-car accident Sunday evening in Odessa has been identified as Hector Soto, 23, of El Paso, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report.
The crash took place just before 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22 on Interstate 20.
According to the DPS report, a Ford F-250 swerved to avoid a collision with a vehicle that had pulled out in front of it.
The driver of the Ford then lost control and rear-ended the trailer that a 2015 Freightliner truck was pulling.
Soto, who was a passenger in the Ford, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As per the report, the driver of the Ford, 46-year-old Jose Arellano from Dallas, and two other occupants, identified as Heriberto Arellano, 21, of Garland and Daniel Palacios, 23, of Wetseka, were all transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
The Freightliner’s driver, David Lang, 35, of Mesa, Arizona, was not injured in the crash.
The deadly accident remains under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
