1 Dies in Fatal Gulf Freeway Collision on Dixie Farm Road

Houston, Texas (January 17, 2018) – One person was killed after being struck while checking the damage on their car Tuesday night, according to a Houston Police Department report.
The fatal crash took place at around 7:49 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, in the northbound lanes of Gulf Freeway near Dixie Farm Road.
The Houston Police Department reported that after a two-car crash, a person exited their vehicle to check the damage their vehicle sustained in the accident.
Shortly after the first crash, two other vehicles collided and the impact of the collision caused one of the car to spiral out of control and struck the person who had exited a vehicle in the first crash, police said.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene, according to the report.
The deadly crash remained under an investigation.
