Kaleb Collins, Brandon Ware and Jaelin Ford Injured in Suspected DWI Crash on S. Coulter St. in Amarillo

Amarillo, Texas (January 16, 2018) – A pedestrian was among three people injured in a crash involving a suspected DWI driver early Monday morning in Southwest Amarillo, according to authorities.
The crash happened in the 5100 block of South Coulter Street, south of McDonald Lake at around 2 a.m.
Police said Kimberlee Soltero, 23, was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima northbound on South Coulter Street when she pulled over to offer a lift to two pedestrians who were walking alongside the street.
The pedestrians were identified as Kaleb Collins, 21, and Brenton Jones, 20.
A 2007 Pontiac G6 was being driven at a high rate of speed when the driver, Brandon Ware, 18, failed to notice the stopped Nissan and ended slamming into it. Collins was also struck by the Pontiac.
Collins sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
Ware and a passenger in the Pontiac, Jaelin Ford, 18, were both transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Ware was arrested and is facing charges of DWI and over speeding, the Amarillo Police Department said.
