3 Injured in Crash with 3 Motorcycles on I-10 in Orange County
Orange County, Texas (January 14, 2018) – Three motorcyclists were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle wreck on Saturday afternoon in Orange County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident took place on Interstate 10 near Mile Marker 876 shortly before 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 13.
DPS said an earlier crash had caused a traffic snarl along the westbound lanes of I-10 and a Dodge minivan was stopped in the traffic when two Harley Davidson motorcycles crashed into its back. Another Harley Davidson failed to avoid the crash and slammed into the vehicles.
Two motorcyclists sustained minor injuries and were transported by an ambulance to a Lake Charles, Louisiana hospital.
A third motorcyclist was airlifted to a Lafayette, Louisiana hospital with unknown injuries.
No one was injured in the minivan.
The crash caused a brief closure of the westbound lanes, which were reopened after about one hour.
