Driver Killed and Another Hospitalized in Arlington Crash on U.S. 287

Arlington, Texas (January 13, 2018) – A 58-year-old Arlington man was killed and another injured in a suspected drunk driving collision in Arlington Wednesday night, authorities said.
The deadly collision happened at around 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, near US Highway 287 and Little Road on U.S. 287 in Arlington.
The wreck occurred just before 9 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of the highway near Little Road.
According to authorities, two vehicles were involved in the collision and one of the drivers, who has been identified as 58-year-old Richard Spencer, of Arlington, died as a result of the crash. The second driver, who was suspected to be intoxicated was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office said Spencer succumbed to injuries at about 8:22 p.m.
Southbound U.S. 287 lanes from Interstate 20 were reportedly shut and reopened at around 1 a.m. as per a report.
No citations were issued in the crash, but the incident remained under an investigation.
