Billy Avance Killed, 2 Injured in Midland County Crash on Rankin Highway (State Highway 349)

Midland County, Texas (August 22, 2019) – An elderly man was killed in a two-vehicle crash that left two other people injured Wednesday afternoon in Midland County, a local news source reported.

The fatal crash took place around 12:30 p.m., August 21, on Rankin Highway (State Highway 349) near West County Road 114

As per the report, Billy Avance, 88, was attempting to exit the parking lot of a business in a 2006 Honda CRV when she failed to yield the right of way to a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, resulting in a collision.

Avance was taken to MMH, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver and passenger of the Silverado were taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

An investigation is underway.
