Jason Edmond Covington Killed in Westbrook Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 20

Westbrook, Texas (July 25, 2019) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident early Wednesday morning in Mitchell County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. July 24, along an Interstate 20 service road.

DPS said Jason Edmond Covington, 38, was in the main lane of the I-20 north-side service road when he was hit by an eastbound pickup driven by Michael Heath Blair, 40, of Coahoma.

Covington was killed in the crash.

Blair was taken to Mitchell County Hospital in Colorado City where he was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
