19-Year-Old Nicholas Richardson Killed in Canton Car Crash on SH 19 near CR 1103

Canton, Texas (May 31, 2019) – A teen was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Thursday afternoon in Canton, according to the DPS.
The wreck happened at about 2:07 p.m. Thursday, May 30, on SH 19 near CR 1103.
DPS said Nicholas Stone Richardson, 19, of Como, was driving a 2011 Buick Enclave southbound on SH 19 when he crashed into the rear of a stopped garbage truck. The truck had reportedly stopped for a school bus that was dropping off students.
Richardson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Some passengers were trapped in the car and had to be extricated by the firefighters. There was no update on the conditions of the passengers.
The driver of the garbage truck was not hurt.
The DPS is conducting an investigation into the incident.
