Nicholas Blanchette ID’d as Man Killed in Orange County Crash on Interstate 10 near FM 1136
Orange County, Texas (March 6, 2019) – The person who was killed Tuesday night in a traffic collision in Orange County has been identified as Nicholas Alan Blanchette, 24 of Beaumont, authorities said.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly wreck was reported at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 on Interstate 10 near FM 1136.
The DPS said a 2008 Honda driven by Blanchette, was stalled in outermost eastbound traffic lane when it was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler. Both vehicles burst into flames after the impact.
The lights on the Honda were not working at the time of the accident.
Blanchette was declared dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
