Newton Man Killed in Newton County Car Crash on SH 87

Newton County, Texas (February 25, 2019) – A man was killed in a deadly two-vehicle collision in Newton County on Friday evening, according to the authorities.
The crash happened on State Highway 87, about 6 miles south of Newton at about 7 p.m. on Friday, February 22.
DPS said a Newton man was operating a 2016 Ford passenger vehicle southbound on SH 87 when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming 2006 GMC pickup truck, towing a trailer.
The Ford driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The DPS is investigating the incident.
