Amanda Garcia Dies in Alice Pedestrian Crash on Highway 281

Alice, Texas (January 26, 2019) – A woman was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident in Alice late Thursday night, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. January 24 on Highway 281.
DPS said Amanda Lucille Garcia, 27, of Alice, stepped into an unlit section of the road and was wearing dark clothing when she was hit by a southbound van.
Garcia suffered fatal injuries and was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital Alice, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
